Wilkes-Barre, PA – March 28, 2025 – Commonwealth Health is proud to announce the success of its Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive, collecting a total of 2,455 jars of peanut butter and nut butter to support local food banks and fight hunger in our community. These donations will help stock the shelves at St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen, Bread Basket of NEPA, and CEO Weinberg Food Bank, providing much-needed sustenance to families in need.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Dr. Matthew Cindric, Allison Zamerowski, CRNP, the Commonwealth Health Physician Network clinics, and the dedicated medical staff at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and Regional Hospital of Scranton, as well as all Commonwealth Health staff members, for their generous contributions to this important initiative.
In addition to the contributions from Commonwealth Health, local partners played a crucial role in the success of the drive, including Gerrity’s, The Wright Center, Jersey College’s School of Nursing, Metz Culinary Management, and Morrison Health Care Food Service. Their generosity and support helped make the Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive a resounding success.
Peanut butter and nut butter are key staples for families facing hunger due to their high nutritional value and long shelf life, making them an ideal donation for food banks. The Jars of Love initiative reflects Commonwealth Health’s ongoing commitment to the well-being of the community and to supporting organizations that help address local hunger.
