Tyler Memorial Hospital Operating Normally After Minor Electrical Issue

PLAINS, PA (January 13, 2014) – All departments and services at Tyler Memorial Hospital are fully open following a minor electrical issue in an air handler unit triggered the hospital’s backup electrical system Monday morning.

Patient care was not interrupted, and there was no danger to patients, staff or visitors at any time.

Both the Tunkhannock fire and police departments responded to the incident, but left the hospital after less than an hour after determining that no danger existed.

Following tests by Pennelec and hospital engineering staff, the hospital returned to its primary power system in the morning.
