Moses Taylor Announces Childbirth Education Schedule

SCRANTON, PA (April 25, 2014) – Moses Taylor Hospital is accepting reservations for Childbirth Education Classes. All classes are held at the Sandy Furey Medical Office Building, 748 Quincy Ave., Floor 3A.
Upcoming classes include:
Lamaze Six-Week Series, an informative, personal and interactive course preparing women and their families for childbirth. Topics include relaxation, breathing techniques, massage, labor and birthing positions and information on labor and birth. Classes will be offered 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Dates are June 11-July 16, Aug. 13-Sept. 17, Oct. 15-Nov. 19.
Lamaze Four-Week Series, Tuesday and Thursdays, 6:30-9:30 p.m. Tuesday dates are June 3-24, July 22-Aug. 12. Thursday offerings: June 19-July 10, Aug. 7-28.
Lamaze Weekend is offered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, June 7-8 and Aug. 9-10.
Infant and Child CPR, a one-evening class designed to teach those responsible for infant and child care about infant/child safety issues and CPR. Mondays, 6:30-8:30 p.m. on May 12, June 2, July 7, Aug. 4.
Sibling Class, Mondays, 6 to 7:30 p.m., May 19, July 28. This fun and interactive one-evening class will provide a special way to introduce a new baby into your family. Sibling class promotes family bonding and decreases your child’s anxiety.
Baby Basics, a one-evening class is an interactive, exciting way to increase your skills and knowledge and help you prepare for the care of your child. Classes are held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on these dates: May 13, 21 and 29; June 10, 18, 26; July 8, 16, 24; Aug. 12, 20, 28.
Breastfeeding Basics offers new mothers guidance and support and covers the how-to’s of breastfeeding, common myths and prevention of problems. This class is offered one evening on Tuesday or Thursday, 6:30-9 p.m. on these dates: May 1, 20; June 5, 17; July 3, 15; Aug. 7, 19.
Breastfeeding Support is offered Tuesdays, from noon to 1:30 p.m. on May 6, June 3, July 1 and Aug. 5. This informal group allows mothers who breastfeed and mothers-to-be an opportunity to meet with other mothers with the same philosophy of infant nutrition.
