Wilkes-Barre General Hospital Volunteers to Conduct Mammothon

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (Sept. 28, 2016) – Commonwealth Health will conduct its fourth annual Mammothon from 4 to 8 p.m. Oct. 11. Volunteers from the six hospitals and related clinics will make calls to women who are past due for their annual mammograms, offering to schedule these critical screenings or giving a gentle reminder about the importance of yearly mammograms.
Last year, volunteers made 4,756 calls to women, scheduling 638 mammograms or 130 percent of the systemwide goal of 489. Participating volunteers are from Berwick Hospital Center, Moses Taylor Hospital, Regional Hospital of Scranton, Tyler Memorial Hospital, Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and the Diagnostic Imaging Center.
