3-D Mammography at Women's Center
8/23/2017
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (Aug. 23, 2017) -- Wilkes-Barre General Hospital has announced that Thomas P. Saxton Pavilion Women’s Imaging Center is now the first site within Commonwealth Health to offer 3D mammography (breast tomosynthesis).
Utilizing advanced 3D mammography (breast tomosynthesis) technology, these exams are clinically proven to significantly increase the detection of breast cancers, while simultaneously decreasing the number of women who are asked to return for additional testing.
3D mammography exams are able to detect cancers on an average of 15 months earlier than traditional mammography, catching cancer in its earliest, most treatable stages.
Discuss with your provider if this exam is right for you. For more information, call TPS Women’s Imaging at (570) 552-4505.
