Cancer Center at Wilkes-Barre General Holds Grand Opening

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (Oct. 7, 2016) -- The Commonwealth Health Cancer Center at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital recently held a grand opening and ribbon cutting. The Cancer Center offers the latest in radiation treatment with the TrueBeam Linear Accelerator, the first of its kind in Luzerne County. It administers radiation treatment to cancerous masses more quickly and more accurately than previous versions of the linear accelerator.

Attending the ribbon cutting are, from left: Brian Goode, director, imaging/cardiology services; Roxanne Schulman, director of operations; Norman Schulman, M.D., radiation oncologist and chairman of the department; Cor Catena, CEO of Commonwealth Health and General Hospital; Brenda Heck, director of imaging services/radiation oncology; Christian Jones, chief operating officer; and Bob Hoffman, chief nursing officer.
