Cardiac Support Group Hosts Heart Health Series

SCRANTON, PA (June 11, 2014) – Mended Hearts, the cardiac support group at Regional Hospital of Scranton, will host a three-part Heart Health Education Series this summer. All sessions are open to the public free of charge and will be held in the McGowan Conference Room, 2nd floor, Regional Hospital, 746 Jefferson Ave., Scranton.

Registered dietitian Matt Schoenholtz will present “Nutritional Replacement After Physical Activity” from 7 to 9 p.m. June 26.

“Exercise and Risk Factors” will be presented from 7 to 9 p.m. July 3 by Elaine Walker, director of cardiac rehabilitation, and Bill Timlin of cardiac rehabilitation.

The series will conclude with a July 10 Healthy Cooking Demonstration by Schoenholtz and Rich Morgan of Metz Food Services. The cooking presentation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m.
