CHEMS Donates Tourniquets to Scranton Police Department
6/5/2017
SCRANTON, Pa. (June 6, 2017) -- Commonwealth Health Emergency Medical Services recently donated 150 Combat Application Tourniquets to the Scranton Police Department. The tourniquets inside the Scranton patrol cars are not as easily accessible and could be critical if an officer is injured and bleeding heavily. Every officer will be issued a tourniquet that will be carried on his or her belt, making it more accessible in an emergency. CHEMS will train the officers on the use of the tourniquets. Attending the presentation are, from left: Carl Graziano, Scranton Chief of Police; Police Patrol Lt. Glenn Thomas; Michael Chmielewski, CHEMS lead operations supervisor; Joe Moran, CHEMS operations manager ; Scranton Mayor William Courtright, and Gary McIntyre, CHEMS director of operations.
