Commonwealth Health Invests $1.3 Million in Advanced Cardiac Imaging Technology

New GE Vivid Echocardiogram Systems Enhance Cardiovascular Care Across Northeastern Pennsylvania

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Commonwealth Health, with the support of Tenor Health Foundation, has invested approximately $1.3 million in 10 new GE Vivid echocardiogram units to enhance cardiovascular imaging services across its network. The new systems have been installed at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, Commonwealth Health Diagnostic & Imaging Center, and Regional Hospital of Scranton.

The GE Vivid systems represent the latest in cardiovascular ultrasound technology, providing clinicians with advanced imaging capabilities that support the evaluation of heart structure, function, blood flow, and other cardiac conditions. The investment reinforces Commonwealth Health's commitment to providing patients with access to advanced diagnostic tools and high-quality heart care close to home.

The GE Vivid systems offer several benefits, including enhanced image quality, advanced measurement capabilities, streamlined workflows, and improved efficiency for sonographers and clinicians. The technology also supports shorter exam times and a more seamless patient experience while helping care teams make informed clinical decisions.

"This investment reflects Tenor Health Foundation's ongoing commitment to supporting clinical excellence and advancing healthcare services throughout the communities we serve," said Radha A. Savitala, President & Chairman of the Board. "By providing caregivers with leading-edge technology, we are helping ensure patients have access to exceptional cardiovascular care close to home."

Heart disease remains one of the leading health concerns nationwide, making access to high-quality diagnostic imaging essential for early detection, treatment planning, and long-term management of cardiovascular conditions.

The new echocardiogram units are now being utilized across the Commonwealth Health network, supporting both routine and complex cardiac evaluations and further strengthening the organization's comprehensive cardiovascular services.
