Commonwealth Health Recognized for Raising Organ Donor Awareness

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (Nov. 16, 2016) – Commonwealth Health earned the platinum designation among health systems in the state during the 2016 Donate Life Hospital Challenge conducted by The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania, the Center for Organ Recovery & Education, the Gift of Life Donor Program and the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

The challenge encouraged hospitals to increase the number of organ and tissue donors as well as raise donation awareness within their hospitals and throughout their communities.

In the category of individual hospitals, Regional Hospital of Scranton earned platinum status while Wilkes-Barre General Hospital achieved a gold ranking.

The challenge and awareness activities of participating hospitals were capture on score cards.
