Commonwealth Health Regional Hospital of Scranton honors Gerald P. Tracy, MD

Scranton, PA (February 1, 2016) Regional Hospital of Scranton recently unveiled a painting to honor cardiologist Gerald P. Tracy, MD, FACC, FACP, who has been practicing at the hospital since 1976. Dr. Tracy, an accomplished physician and active member of the medical community, served as director of the hospital’s cardiovascular diseases from 1982 to 2004 and as president of the medical staff from 1991-1992.
A founding member of the Medical Education Development Consortium (2004-2007) and chairman of the Accreditation Committee, he was a corporate board member of Pennsylvania Blue Shield (1992-2003); board of directors for the Scranton Temple Residency program (1979-2009); and The Commonwealth Medical College clinical professor in the department of medicine and associate dean for Regional Campus Development (Scranton). Dr. Tracy, who has written several publications, was awarded the Frank O’Hara Award for Distinguished Achievements in Medicine in 1983 by the University of Scranton; an Honorary Doctors of Letters, University of Scranton, 1999; and the American Heart Association, Lackawanna County Honoree, 2008.
Dr. Tracy and his wife, the former Mary Burke, have three children, Erin E. Tracy, MD, MPH, of Boston; Gerald P. Tracy Jr., of Philadelphia; and attorney Maureen Tracy Leo, of Acton, Mass.
