Commonwealth Health Volunteers to Hold 7th Annual Mammothon

Commonwealth Health will conduct its seventh annual Mammothon from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 17 at three locations. Volunteers from the six hospitals and related clinics will make calls to women who are past due for their annual mammograms, offering to schedule these critical screenings or to give a gentle reminder about the importance of yearly mammograms. Last year, 98 volunteers made 4,074 calls to women, scheduling 543 mammograms. Participating volunteers are from Berwick Hospital Center, Moses Taylor Hospital, Regional Hospital of Scranton, Tyler Memorial Hospital, Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and the Diagnostic Imaging Center. This year the calls will be made from the Thomas P. Saxton Medical Pavilion, Edwardsville; Berwick Hospital Center and Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton.
