Dietitian to Address Stroke Support Group

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (March 28, 2018) – Commonwealth Health Wilkes-Barre General Hospital Stroke Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. April 18 at the Thomas P. Saxton Medical Pavilion, 468 Northampton St., Kingston. This recently established group was formed to help stroke patients and their caregivers deal with everyday issues.

Helen Pickering, a registered dietitian and clinical nutrition manager at the hospital, will present “Eating Healthy on a Budget.” She will focus on ways to make nutritious meals for those who face money, time and effort constraints.

Jennifer Perrins, a registered nurse and nursing supervisor at the hospital’s Center for Advance Rehabilitation, will serve as facilitator for the monthly meetings.

Each monthly meeting will include a guest speaker, planned topic and educational session.
