Dr. Raklewicz to Present Free Seminar on Joint Replacement
8/22/2018
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (Aug. 22, 2018) – Michael Raklewicz, M.D., will present a free community seminar on arthritis pain at 6 p.m. Sept. 27 at Mohegan Sun Pocono, Highway 315, Plains Township.
Dr. Raklewicz, chief of orthopedic surgery at Commonwealth Health Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, will explain the effects arthritis has on the knees and hips and will talk about ways to alleviate this pain.
He will discuss options for treating joint pain and joint replacement surgery including the hospital’s newest robotic-assisted surgical system which uses a device that provides more precision and accuracy. The system is unique in that it does not require a pre-operative CT scan. Instead, the surgeon collects patient-specific data during the procedure to build a three-dimensional model of the patient’s knee.
The event is open to the public free of charge though reservations are recommended and may be made by calling (570) 552-7496. The event will be held in the Anthracite Meeting Room. Guests are advised to use the hotel entrance. Light refreshments will be served.
