EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. (April 15, 2015) – Commonwealth Health First Hospital is accepting reservations for “Documentation: What Health Care Professionals Need to Know – Quality, Safety & Ethical Guidelines,” a free lecture to be held 6 to 8 p.m. May 14 at Thomas P. Saxton Medical Pavilion, Edwardsville.
Karen Cooper, a registered nurse and certified legal nurse consultant, will present the lecture which is part of the Professional Education Series designed for the professionals and the community. Each program is approved for 2.0 Continuing Education Units.
Credits have been approved by the Pennsylvania Certification Board, NASW-PA, and pending approval from the PA State Board of Social Workers.
The lecture is geared toward nurses, social workers and other health care professionals who may become overwhelmed by the changing requirements for documenting patient care.
This program will help professionals understand the importance of good documentation, and how to achieve documentation, which not only meets demanding requirements, but can provide a clear and easy to understand narrative of the patient’s experience. Discussion will include suggestions for step-by-step documentation techniques which will help ease staff anxiety about appropriate documentation and hold up under legal scrutiny.
