EDWARDSVILLE (July 30, 2014) – Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania, in cooperation with Commonwealth Health, recently set up its Gallery of Hope display at Thomas P. Saxton Pavilion for a weeklong stay in an effort to promote breast cancer awareness. The Gallery of Hope features the stories of 10 Northeastern Pennsylvania residents who shared their personal experiences with breast cancer as a way to inspire others who are facing the disease. Honoree Maria Jiunta Heck, West Pittston, stopped by to see the traveling display while it was near her hometown. Created by Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania in 2000, the Gallery of Hope is designed to educate the public about the importance of early detection and treatment in the fight against breast cancer.
