General Hospital to Host Informational Session on Health Insurance

EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. (Nov. 17, 2014) – Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, an affiliate of Commonwealth Health, will offer a free informational session on health insurance from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Center for Health Education, Thomas P. Saxton Pavilion, Edwardsville.
Appointment may be made to register for health insurance. Refreshments will be served.
Most U.S. citizens are required to enroll in a health insurance plan and people who can afford health insurance coverage in 2015 but do not enroll face penalties of $324 per adult, $162.50 per child and up to $975 per family or 2 percent of family income, whichever is higher.
Without insurance, individuals are responsible for all of their medical costs.
Commonwealth Health will provide information on affordable coverage options and eligibility requirements for Medicaid and government and financial assistance toward premiums and other costs.
