Look Good Feel Better program scheduled for Sept. 15 at Thomas P. Saxton Pavilion

The American Cancer Society, in cooperation with Commonwealth Health, will sponsor a Look Good Feel Better event on Tuesday, Sept. 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Thomas P. Saxton Pavilion in Edwardsville.

The program is designed for women dealing with hair loss and skin changes resulting from chemotherapy and radiation treatment.

Local stylists help participants apply make-up to enhance their features, and show them different hairstyles that may work for them. In addition, each woman receives a customized kit, worth about $200, containing skin care and make-up products to take home after the two-hour session.

Because the kits are individualized for each participant, it's mandatory that anyone interested registers for the session. They can do so by calling the American Cancer Society at 1-800-227-2345.
