WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (Nov. 23, 2015) -- Clark Gerhart, M.D., a general and bariatric surgeon, gave a demonstration on robotic-assisted surgery to Health Explorer Post 575 sponsored by Commonwealth Health Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. The group is part of Learning for Life, a subsidiary of the Boy Scouts of America and is open to young men and women ages 14 to 20 who are interested in a career in health care.

The program is overseen by an advisory committee composed of volunteers. Among those in attendance are: Julia Adonizio, Harveys Lake; Caroline Banas, Dallas; Makayla Guzzo, Dallas; Maura Hannon, Hanover Township; Nicholas James, Dallas; Miranda Jones, Falls; Abigail Kebles, Wilkes-Barre Township;  Justina Lawrence, Nuremberg; Christopher Mennig, Dallas; Olivia Mennig, Dallas; Madelyn Miles, Ringtown; Alyssa Oliver, Drums; Abigail Paul, Jim Thorpe; Tessa Peluso, Hazleton; Christine Revitt, Wilkes-Barre;  Miranda Roche, Shavertown; Jillian Scanlon, Pittston; Bella Stash, Forty Fort; Agripina Torres, Wilkes-Barre; Nico Vasquez, West Pittston; Madison Woods, Kingston; Nicholas Young, Freeland; Zachary Young, Freeland; Madison Zulkoski, Hanover Township. Advisers in attendance were Brenda Adams, Tom Gurzynski, Rosemarie Taylor and  John Watkins.
