Mended Hearts Group Donates DVDs to Cardiac Patients

SCRANTON, PA (May 30, 2014) – The Mended Hearts, Inc., Scranton Area Chapter 276, the cardiac rehabilitation support group at Regional Hospital of Scranton, recently donated a set of educational DVDs valued at $1,200 to the cardiac rehab center at the facility. The films are geared toward cardiac patients and provide lessons and offer tips on diet, exercise and other lifestyle issues. Mended Hearts offers support, help and encouragement to cardiac patients and their families and is dedicated to inspiring hope in heart disease patients and their loved ones. The group has 96 members. Since January 1996, the Scranton chapter of Mended Hearts has made 39,476 visits to 15,153 patients, logging in a total of 34,275 service hours.
