Murphy Named Director at Regional Hospital

SCRANTON, Pa. (July 19, 2017) – Karen Murphy, of Plains Township, has been named director of surgical services for Commonwealth Health Regional Hospital of Scranton.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and marketing and earned an MBA in health care administration from the University of Scranton and a master of science degree in nursing from Wilkes University.

She previously was manager of the operating room at Geisinger Wyoming Valley and served as an administrator for privately owned surgery centers and clinics and most recently was senior director of surgical services for Guthrie Health System.
