Open House for Breastfeeding Awareness at Moses Taylor

SCRANTON, Pa. (July 28, 2015) – An open house for Breastfeeding at Work Awareness will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 7 at the 2 West Conference Center at Commonwealth Health Moses Taylor Hospital. This event coincides with World Breastfeeding Week 2015.

This informational and educational open house will focus on a lactating mother's rights under Pennsylvania legislation requiring a workplace to provide accommodations for breastfeeding mothers to maintain their feeding routine.

The event will feature informational and educational displays including a model lactation station, tips on handling breast milk in a day care setting and how to obtain a breast pump with the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.

A basket raffle is planned. Proceeds will be donated to the Catherine McAuley Center to help establish a lactation station for clients and employees.

Refreshments will be provided. There will be a play area for children and vendor displays will be featured.
