Pediatric Health Fair

EDWARDSVILLE (July 3, 2014) – A pediatric health fair featuring educational and entertaining stations and activities will be held from 9 a.m. to noon July 12 at the Thomas P. Saxton Medical Pavilion.
Wilkes-Barre General Hospital is presenting the free event, which is open to children ages 5 and older. All children should be accompanied by an adult.
Those in attendance will be encouraged to visit several stations where they may participate in interactive presentations that teach valuable health-related lessons. Some of the topics include: making healthy food choices, proper brushing of the teeth, hand washing, summer first aid, what to do in an emergency, hands-only CPR, bicycle safety, blood pressure checks and physical fitness.
Carrie Flowers will present “Flowers Soothe the Bully Beast,” an anti-bullying program. Children may tour an ambulance, participate in an exercise class and register for a library card with the Osterhout Free Library. Light refreshments will be provided.
