Surgeon to Discuss Osteoporosis, Hip Injury at Free Seminar

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (Oct. 30, 2017) – Orthopedic surgeon Johnny Hernandez, M.D., will present a free public seminar on osteoporosis at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Commonwealth Health Mountain Top Campus, 239 S. Mountain Blvd.
“Osteoporosis and Hip Fractures in the Elderly” will focus on ways to prevent and treat injuries related to osteoporosis and the treatments available for hip injuries.
Dr. Hernandez is affiliated with Orthopaedic Consultants, Kingston, and is on the medical staff of Commonwealth Health Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez Campus with a bachelor’s degree in biology and the university’s Medical Sciences Campus where he earned a medical degree. He completed a general surgery internship at San Juan City Hospital and an orthopedic surgery residency at the university’s Medical Sciences Campus.
He previously was in private and academic practice in Puerto Rico for 26 years and is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
