WBGH Trauma Director Heads State Council

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (June 13, 2017) – Cheryl MacDonald-Sweet, trauma director at Commonwealth Health Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, was elected president of the Pennsylvania State Council of the Emergency Nurses Association. She also was nominated to the slate for the National Board of Directors of the Emergency Nurses Association.
MacDonald-Sweet, a resident of Newton Township, began her nursing career as an emergency room and trauma nurse at CMC where she later served as a critical care nurse educator, injury prevention/outreach coordinator and trauma program manager. She also served as the trauma program manager for Pocono Medical Center’s Level III Trauma Center. She is a forensic nurse for the Lackawanna County Children’s Advocacy Center and serves as the director of the paramedic program at Lackawanna College.
