Regional Hospital Hosts Free Cardiac Health Education Fair

SCRANTON, Pa. (Oct. 1, 2014) – A Cardiac Health Fair sponsored by Regional Hospital of Scranton will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 9 at the second floor McGowan Conference Room at the hospital, 746 Jefferson Avenue. Regional Hospital is an affiliate of Commonwealth Health. The event is free and open to the public.

The fair will feature numerous booths and stations designed to educate the consumer on cardiac-related procedures, screenings and latest developments.

Topics will include: cardiac catheterization and heart rhythm center; cardiac surgery information and education; emergency department services; cardiovascular diagnostic information (echo and vascular lab); cardiac rehabilitation;  cholesterol screening; blood pressure screening; nutritional cooking demonstrations; Commonwealth Health Emergency Medical Services; stroke education; and the Mended Hearts support group.
