ACC Representatives Present Regional Hospital with Certification

SCRANTON, PA. (Feb. 13, 2013) – Public officials, board members and hospital employees gathered Monday as representatives of the American College of Cardiology presented Commonwealth Health Regional Hospital with the nation’s first Cardiac Catheterization Lab Accreditation. The program was held in the hospital’s McGowan Conference Room where CEO Justin Davis greeted guests and introduced the ACC’s Tamara Johnston, business manager, and Amy Westfall, accreditation cath lab service line specialist. Remarks were offered by W. David FitzPatrick, medical director of the Commonwealth Health Heart and Vascular Institute at Regional; Elaine Walker, program director and accreditation lead; Mark Mileski, clinical director of the institute and cath lab, and Chris Howe, assistant CEO. They acknowledged the outstanding work of the team including Dr. Sridhar Sampath Kumar, medical director, and cath lab staff Sarah Kane and Tom Sochovka.
