Hearing and Balance (Audiology)
Commonwealth Health provides care for common hearing and balance conditions such as:
- Ear infections
- Tinnitus
- Swimmers ear
- Dizziness
- Vertigo
- Motion sickness
Audiologists work collaboratively with ear, nose and throat doctors and perform detailed exams to determine the cause and extent of hearing and balance problems. The team develops a treatment plan to address balance issues, hearing loss and improve communication, including:
- Hearing assessments and vestibular (balance) testing
- Hearing-aid evaluations and fittings, and assistive listening devices
- Cochlear implants
- Custom ear plugs
- Ear tube surgery
We also provide education for long-term management, as well as referrals to specialized doctors, therapists and other clinicians for multidisciplinary care.
