Regional Hospital of Scranton Recognized Among Nation’s Top Heart Care Centers

Regional Hospital of Scranton has been named one of only 100 hospitals nationwide to receive the American College of Cardiology (ACC) HeartCARE Center designation, the organization’s highest recognition for hospitals and health systems providing cardiovascular care.
Established in 2018, the HeartCARE Center designation recognizes hospitals that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered cardiovascular care.
Hospitals earning this distinction meet rigorous criteria, including participation in multiple ACC accreditation programs, national cardiovascular data registries and targeted quality improvement initiatives designed to enhance patient outcomes and close gaps in guideline-based care.
Regional Hospital of Scranton’s inclusion on this national list reflects its ongoing dedication to advancing cardiovascular care through evidence-based practices, coordinated treatment and continuous performance improvement.
“This recognition is a testament to the expertise and commitment of our entire cardiovascular team,” said Michael B. Clark, President and CEO of Commonwealth Health. “Their dedication to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care continues to make a meaningful difference for patients and families throughout our region.”
The ACC HeartCARE Center designation highlights forward-thinking organizations that are leading the way in sustainable quality improvement and setting the standard for comprehensive, coordinated heart care.
“We are proud to provide advanced heart care close to home,” Clark added. “This designation reinforces our commitment to improving patient outcomes and ensuring our communities have access to exceptional cardiovascular services.”
Regional Hospital of Scranton remains dedicated to investing in innovative technologies, clinical excellence and community-focused care to meet the growing cardiovascular needs of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
