Hearing and Balance (Audiology)

Commonwealth Health provides care for common hearing and balance conditions such as:

  • Ear infections
  • Tinnitus
  • Swimmers ear
  • Dizziness
  • Vertigo
  • Motion sickness

Audiologists work collaboratively with ear, nose and throat doctors and perform detailed exams to determine the cause and extent of hearing and balance problems. The team develops a treatment plan to address balance issues, hearing loss and communication, including:

  • Hearing assessments and vestibular (balance) testing
  • Hearing-aid evaluations and fittings, and assistive listening devices
  • Cochlear implants
  • Custom ear plugs
  • Ear tube surgery

We also provide education for long-term management, as well as referrals to specialized doctors, therapists and other clinicians for multidisciplinary care.
